It was largely built after the older resorts, with <strong>wide, level seafront avenues and modern hotels<\/strong> \u2014 which in practice makes it the easiest place in the south to move around on a scooter or in a wheelchair. The promenade that runs through Torviscas, Fa\u00f1ab\u00e9 and El Duque continues south into Playa de las Am\u00e9ricas and Los Cristianos: around 9 kilometres of largely flat, paved walkway along the coast.<\/p>\n      <p><strong>Beach accessibility in Costa Adeje is genuinely good \u2014 but it works differently from Arona, and the difference matters.<\/strong> Adeje council provides amphibious chairs at Torviscas, Fa\u00f1ab\u00e9 and El Duque. At <strong>Torviscas and Fa\u00f1ab\u00e9 there is an assisted bathing service<\/strong> with amphibious chairs and crutches. At <strong>Playa del Duque there is an amphibious chair but no assisted bathing support<\/strong>, so you will need someone with you.<\/p>\n      <p>Crucially, the council states that the service <strong>cannot be booked in advance<\/strong>: it depends on availability and on the lifeguard service hours.
